Kate, your Artist in Residence

The broncos were bucking. The zither was zithing. And Kate, she was painting an exquisite bride in plaid for the Estancia's private collection

The goal? An elegant giraffe. The final? A giraffe surrounded by the animals that visited the ceremony including a sloth. Animals featured that did not visit: Alligators.

A mermaid took shape over only a few hours of tequila tasting. This piece includes inspiration from the jewelry and tattoos of guests as they sipped and delighted in mole.

Kate was hired to paint her "Tattooed Lady" over the course of the eerie & sophisticated evening. Guests "oooed" and Hosts "ahhhed" as paint met canvas.

And a masterpiece was born. 

She had one hour to paint a monster. Kate joined artists at the SDAI in an elegant "Paint Over." In which she added mystery to Vetriano's "Singing Butler" with acrylics and an hour deadline. The piece remains in a Patron's Private Collection.
